Packing Perfection: BAGAIL Compression Cubes, A Gift She Loved!

Efficient Organizers with Satisfactory Compression
Overall – I would rate this 3.5 – 4 stars. I have purchased 2 sets of this and still use them when traveling.***In the picture these bags are the black with gray bands and zipper. The white are another compression bag brand I tried ***The BAGAIL Compression Packing Cubes have proven to be reliable travel companions with some notable strengths and a few minor setbacks, leading to a balanced 3.5-4 star rating.On the positive side, these packing cubes have been a boon for keeping my luggage organized. They are sturdy and well-made, fitting neatly into various travel bags. Cleaning them is a breeze, which adds to their overall convenience. The zippers held up well and didn’t give me any trouble during my trips.While the compression feature does work, it didn’t quite match up to the best I’ve experienced. It performed adequately, but did not compress to the level I expected. I found that the level of compression achieved was influenced by the types of clothes I used. Lighter fabrics responded better to compression compared to bulkier items (despite the claims that hoodies in these bags can be ‘seriously compressed’… they don’t save that much room using these bags)In summary, the BAGAIL Compression Packing Cubes are dependable organizers that fulfill their purpose effectively. Nicely made
Very happy with my purchase. The packing cubes are sturdy and nicely made. The zippers are durable and they work as expected. I like the large sizes in the four piece set. Wonderful for your carry-on luggage. I think these packing cubes are going to be even more handy when I’m traveling in colder weather.I find for my summer travel it doesn’t necessarily help to save a lot of space but it keeps things well organized. Clearly this is due to how you typically pack your clothes and size of clothes. I like to lay everything flat and stack. I’m petite and my husband calls my clothes, dolls clothes. My summer items are thin and small to begin with and not bulky. When I packed normally (laying clothes flat) verses the compression bag I gain a little bit of space. I do think it is much easier to take your items out of your suitcase with the compression bags. Also great for dirty laundry!Update: I used a few for my trip. They worked out well. They are very durable. Not heavy but not very light weight either. I mention the weight because it could be an issue as international travel reduces carry on weight and bag sizes. There are some cubes I have seen that are more of that light weight nylon. Anyway, for me the weight factor is really not an issue.

Fantastic purchase kept everything so organized in our luggage
While I agree with some of the reviews about questioning how well the compression part of these bags actually work and if it’s truly worth paying more than the regular packing cubes the cubes themselves are fantastic. It doesn’t compress like a vacuum bag but rather smushes everything down which is still slightly helpful. We just went on a cruise and it was nice to have everything in its own compartment such as socks and underwear, swimsuits, nice dinner clothes, casual daytime clothes, medications, and toiletries. My cubes were Seafoam green and my husband’s were black. We’ve only used them for one trip so I’m not sure how durable they are but they did great for getting in and out of them every day for this trip. The variety of sizes were great and it’s nice to have the option whether to smush and compress the cubes or leave the second zipper undone for more room. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and plan on using them for every trip for now on.

For frequent travelers!
I bought these for a two week trip to Italy last month. I was worried about bulky winter clothing taking up too much luggage space and being disorganized travelling to several different cities. These were perfect! I was able to fit 7 pairs of pants into the large bag and compact them down for more space! The smaller ones were great for organizing like dresser drawers. They worked so well that I’m ordering more for my daughter-in-law and daughter, who frequently travel for long trips. Keep in mind that they will add more weight because you can add more clothing.

Didn’t perform as I expected…..
I purchased this set for a 2+ week trip to South America (Argentina) in January. I didn’t want to check any luggage, so I went with a 14 x 22 carry-on and a 10 x 17 under seat case. You really couldn’t put very much in the bags to actually “compress” items. If you filled them fuller, and if you could actually get the compression zipper closed, the contents were hard as a rock, and it was difficult to pack them.I did use two of them as packing cubes and didn’t try to compress. They held about the same number of items and helped keep things organized. They were also flexible enough that way so I could tuck other things around them, and I was actually able to pack more that way.In the end, I should have just gotten packing cubes instead of the more expensive compression cubes. I plan to keep them and use them again without the compression feature.

These look nice and are a great way to stay organized.
These bags are high quality and look great. They will keep the contents of my luggage organized for sure. The kit I purchased had six pieces. I really don’t necessarily need the shoe bag, and there are plenty of options to chose from in the set, I am not sure I need ALL of them. If I were to purchase this again, I may have decided on the smaller pack. Using all of them, I can barely fit them in my rolling suitcase. As far as the compression goes, I was not impressed. I honestly think they didn’t really change anything about the items I put in them. You cannot fill the bags more than 2/3 full or they will not zip shut. They bulge in the middle and there doesn’t appear to be any space change whatsoever that I couldn’t done myself by packing them in the suitcase alone. For example – if I roll the clothes – I can fit the same clothes in there as if they were in these bags and there is the same amount of space they take up. I just really cannot justify using them for the compression or space saving idea as many say thats what they are for. I don’t understand that. I could have lived without them, and I wouldn’t buy this again – however they are nice bags for … bags. Its not a bad product, I just wouldn’t count on them saving you any ‘space.’ I think it would make more sense to use them without the compression feature just for organization.

Non-mesh, 4-pack version.
These work!! Its my first go at the packing cubes, and I bought these and also the mesh 6-pack version. Between this 4-pack, and the mesh 6-pack, I was able to completely pack all of my stuff plus my two younger daughter’s stuff for a 2-week trip with a bit of room to spare. I ended up making one of them into a dirty laundry bag on the trip. I thought this version was much better at the actual compression aspect, where as the mesh ones *maybe* fit a bit more, but seemed more about the organization aspect. The large size of this version fit (x3) puffy winter coats (mine + 2 kids) and REALLY compressed them to fit in the suitcase. Don’t think I could have fit a 4th though. Overall think I like this version better than the mesh for space saving.

Great packing cubes! Used with a 40L backpack for a three month, one bag trip
I brought these packing cubes on a three month trip across Europe, Africa, and Asia where I only brought one bag. They worked so well with our 40L backpacks! We didn’t use the compression aspect at all since it barely saved space in our bags – it kind of just rounds them out without reducing the maximum dimensions in each direction. But we had enough space to leave them uncompressed and they were super helpful in keeping things organized as we traveled for so long. I continue to use them for other travel now with more normal luggage.

Great packing tools!
Packed for a week long trip to CA with just a carry on, used these bags for the first time. It was amazing how much space these things created. I have used them a handful of times and they seem to be holding up well. The concept is simple, you pack the cute like normal, then zip it up to create a little packing cube. This is functional in and of itself. However, then you can basically flatten it even more and keep it flat by zipping it even further. Word of warning – it will cause more wrinkles in your clothes simply because everything is being squished in tight. However, if you are willing to accept that, these things are fantastic and really allow you pack extremely efficiently. I am very glad I tried them out, and now my biggest problem is that my wife tries to take them when we are packing for a trip so I don’t have enough to use!

Worth it to save some space in that tiny suitcase.
Compressible packing cubes are easy to zip closed and hold more than expected before compression (although closing the compression zipper can be tricky if the cube is too full). Doesn’t save weight, of course, but really makes it easier to pack in a small suitcase. I liked the vented fronts so the cubs be could be used to pack laundry for the trip home; have not noticed any odors transferring to the cubes after coming home.Has replaced my old non-compressing cubes.

Organization? A+ Compression? Meh.
We are going on a huge trip soon and will be taking many flights, including one that’ll be about 14 hours. I’m trying very hard to have our luggage both organized AND consolidated since I’m packing for two adults and 3 young kids. I’ve been trying out some compression packing cubes in hope to save some space.These photos are of the 16” “large size”. I packed this cube with my husbands clothes. For reference, he wears a 4X so his clothes are not small. I packed 3 t-shirts, two thick flannel long sleeve shirts, and 2 long sleeve t-shirts in this bag for a total of 7 4X shirts. I then compressed it to see how it did. The bag itself fits a lot and I’m super excited about that! However once I compressed the bag, I wasn’t overly impressed. Did it shrink a tiny bit? Sure. Maybe a half inch. But is it enough that I should’ve spent so much on these instead of regular packing cubes? Absolutely not. I would’ve preferred buying just traditional cubes for half the price.I’ll keep them just for the organization factor. We’re flying around so much that I see a benefit in separating out a day or two of clothes into each bag. But they definitely don’t compress like I had hoped.

Broken zipper-but still amazing product!!
I have used these bags multiple times! They are great! However, 3rd one in size has a broken zipper and I can’t figure out how to get a replacement from the company. Otherwise, I highly recommend these bags for travel. I have been able to pack my family of 4 in the 3 remaining bags for summer travel!

We bought these to help compact our clothes when we travel. The zipper flow smoothly and they do slightly compact your clothes. The clothes compress to just about the size if you rolled them tightly, but teh bags also help keep your clothes organized, My wife likes to pack her outfits together and these work well for that purpose. Zippers are smoooooth!
Just received yesterday. Tested every zipper and they all worked perfectly! Used the compression technique on a cube of sweaters. Not a huge amount of compression but definitely saw some.I chose this particular style of cubes because they can compress or expand.When most compression cubes are compressed, they bulge in the center. But when this style is compressed, it lies flat, maximizing luggage space. And the expansion feature might be helpful when returning home with souvenirs!So far, the evidence suggests that they should work well. Will update this review after road-testing them.

No Comparison
I have purchased and road-tested several brands and types of travel compression bags over the years. These were by far the best quality I have ever used, and even I ended up buying two sets of these. I used a couple of different brands, and these ones, on a recent 3-week trip abroad. These were the winners.1) The zippers don’t get stuck in the expansion flap 2) The material is slick, thick, and durable 3) The zippers feel like industrial strength 4) The thick material ‘clamps’ down and really compresses clothes (not a lot of give), and 5) The best feature is: The compression zipper and opening zipper are different colors, and after a long day of travel I appreciated.If there is any negative, they are not lightweight. They add weight to bags of flying. Happy travels!

Great space savers for travel packing
I got these today. They work great! As others have said, they do plump up in the middle not it’s still saved a lot of space. I always bring a blanket when I travel and was concerned it wouldn’t fit it a carry on with my clothes. I bought these space saver bags.As you can see from the photos, the compression bags save quite a bit of room. They seem to be durable and with be great for traveling. Good value as well. I have my blanket in the 2nd largest bag. See photos for before and after.I recommend these!

Great for carry on bags
Got this to save on carry-on luggage space and organize better our clothes when traveling. I am definitely very pleased with the quality and ease of use. I use the smaller cubes for my little ones clothes and the larger size ones for my clothes when packing our luggage. It definitely makes packing a lot of items into a carry-on bag doable. We liked it so much that we have recommended it to family and friends! No more sitting on top of the luggage to close it. The smaller cubes can also work for toiletries when going on road trips.

I love these!
I lived overseas for 15 years and have tried all sorts of travel gadgets. The Bagall packing cubes are the best I’ve tried. The material is a little thicker than on any others I have used, which means they aren’t as “floppy.” And they really do smush the contents so you can pack more. The one change that would earn them 5 stars would be some sort of window to show what’s packed in each. But even without that, I would definitely recommend them.

Organized and optimized suitcase for trip to Italy.
These compressed our clothes to really get more use out of the suitcase. During a two week bus tour, as the clothes were used we used these to compressed the used clothing (wrapped in bags). It kept our clothes organized throughout two week of trips with moving to new hotel every couple of days.

These are a fantastic alternative to those roll up ones. They require low effort assuming you don’t overdo pack them. They are also great quality, & I’ve been using them for months now. I love the variety of sizing options for all your needs. I usually use a backpack, personal item to travel for week long trips & only need 1 or 2. But, they make life & organizing so much simpler. Give them a try, I’m confident you won’t regret it. Also, don’t be alarmed when they arrive, they are all tucked into the smallest one. Compression!
To me, compression packing cubes are a must. I use them to organize my clothes by type into different cubes. It’s so nice to keep things easy to find and grab. Just unzip the compression zipper when you get there and you have everything nicely organized. So much better than trying to rummage in your suitcase in a cozy (read incredibly tiny) hotel room that lacks storage. I also take a few empty ones (usually the larger ones) for all of the newly purchased items. One is for the thrifted items and a spare one in case I also do retail. It’s not a bad idea to have one designated for laundry. I recommend folding items to fit the dimension of the cube rather than rolling. That way they will compress nice and flat without bulging up in the middle. More will fit in the suitcase that way. I can usually tuck other things (shoes, umbrella, chargers around the edges of my suitcase. I divide my cosmetics/toiletries into multiple bags rather than one bigger one, to make them more tuckable. These cubes seem durable. They have held up well so far. The zippers function well (really important in a compression bag). As far as wrinkles go, I think my clothes are less wrinkles using these. It might be because of folding flat instead of rolling? Anyway, highly recommended.

Untested but quality seems good
I just received these compression bags and haven’t packed with them yet, but I have looked at them closely. There was a faint unpleasant (chemical) odor when I opened the plastic wrapping, so I unzipped all the zippers–regular and compression zips–and hung the bags to air out. After 48 hrs, no detectable odor. As I zipped and unzipped, I saw that the sewing and the zippers seemed to be of good quality. When I was ready to store the bags, I repacked the 3 larger ones in the smallest one. This process required compression to get the smallest bag closed without stressing the zipper seam too much, and I believe this succeeded. If anything changes with the real test–packing the bags for travel or storage–I will update.

Pretty AND functional
These are so pretty, sturdy, and have good zippers. ALSO, has a handle which makes it easy to hang to dry! So happy I found these!!!
